The History Of MMM BooGrrs:
It was the year 2006. Born in a tiny grade 12 classroom, the MMM BooGrrs comics started off as innocent doodles on the back of the creator’s philosophy notes. Inspired by the hilarious ramblings of philosophy genius, Mr. Perrone, MMM BooGrrs began to take form in late February and was originally meant to immortalize the funny things that were said within the walls of that classroom. By March 2006, the comic strip had collected enough laughs in class and out, that the creator decided to take it one step further by launching a website for it.
Several months later, MMM BooGrrs had spread through the internet, earning a number of fans along the way. The comic’s humour style developed as the months went on. Earlier comic ideas were taken from well-known jokes and quotes, and the creator managed to draw a comic a day for the first couple of months. But, as the comic gained more popularity, she decided that quality was better than quantity and started making less, but higher-quality and original comics. They started out rather clean, until people began requesting to see more comics with Blinky in them (until then, Boo was the main character). Blinky had already developed a character of being deceitfully cute with his mind constantly in the gutter. People seemed to like this sense of false innocence, and so it has become a sort of theme for the comic.
Another thing that has developed over time is the comic’s drawing style. After its first year online, the creator decided to go for a slightly more 3D look and changed the overall style, which was implemented in May 2007. However, after an almost year-long hiatus (and much demand from her dedicated readers), she brought the comics back into activity in 2010, and with it transformed the comics’ look into a cleaner, more doodle/cartoon form.
